Best gift for your vRS TDI?

Featured Replies

Ciao,

I'm really starving for my next RS TDI estate. She'll arrive with 18", xenons, bluetooth an some other minor plus.

Now, she is a company car and I wouldn't apply heavvy mods but I'd like to light tweak her a bit to get her more comfortable/brisk :) .

For example, at first sight I noticed Skoda lacks the rear sun curtains that my actual Megane II estate sports.

Now, I wondered, what did/would you find to be agood thing to your beloved Skoda?

Ciao from a snowy ! Genoa,

Stefano

A remap is the most obvious choice for a bit more power but you'd need to see how your company would react to that.

Mine is a company car, so i cant do much to mine either - but, i have fitted Silvatec Indicator bulbs so that they arent orange and look a bit more upmarket. I also have a high flow air filter panel, has helped with the repsonsiveness a little - it is easily swapped for services etc - i keep mine in my boot incase i need to swap it back in a hurry...

Thank you all,

I know companies which offer the possibility to load the original map back. But is the "flashing" (I think it's a flash of a EEPROM, isn't it?) tracked by the car diagnosys?

@djgritt: which filter brand would you recommend?

Ciao,

Stefano

cant be detected. Keep it quiet and who will know.

I have the Pipercross Panel Filter.

It was a good price and pretty good quality IMO

There is a flash counter on the ECU for the TFSi but it is normally reset by the mapper.

Not sure on these so called switchable maps which actually load and unload the map every time you change - no one seems willing to give us a straight answer.

Thank you,

I've just asked an italian company which would make the tdi achieve 195bhp/420Nm.

Snap! Company car too.

Silver indicator bulbs - distinctive, cheap and simple. Air filter (K&N) as well.

You could also try a Neuspeed rear anti roll bar, 25mm up from OEM 21mm. It neutralises the handling, reducing understeer quite nicely (particularly on the TDI), can be fitted/taken on/off fairly easily/quickly and is relatively discreet.

Many thanks,

The Pipercoss Part Number is PP1621

checked. Till now best option seems to me that offered by BSR (Is PPC the same thing as a "diesel-box"?).

One can load/unload the map by himself. Anybody willin to share experiences?

Hi all again,

I got my Skoda on thursday and after a couple of days "she" already sports about 800Km :D

I'm very impressed by handling (18"), steer, gearbox. Engine seems willing to push, even if sometimes I noticed that bit of hesitation found in many comments of the PD170.

First gift are a couple of "Winnie the Pooh" sun curtains and the rear "baby inside" sticker :D.

Even if it's a company car, I'm considering to change first break-in oil in a few Km rather than leaving it the whole service interval...

Sound is improving, but first hourse were hardly tolerable (break in again).. Is it possible to get a link on STREAM MP3 instruction manual (I fear I got it in norwegian, or swedish, or whatever but nor italian, or english and neither german). BTW, is it possible to adapt volume to speed?

Ciao,

Stefano

I think the GALA setting on the stream is the link for speed.

Skoda UK (not sure about your local Skoda) do rear, made to fit blinds, so will look OEM, also OE Sunshades Ltd | www.oesunshades.com which do look similar if not the same to Skoda ones.
