hi i have a skoda octavia 1.9 sdi taxi 200k full service history etc , today a few times when ive stopped at junctions and set back off it feels like handbrake is on then suddenly bangs then is ok, as im starting getting paranoid i seem to be hearing faint wareing noisys any clues

Are your brakes binding or sticking on? then suddenly release with a bang when you drive away.

Or maybe a dragging clutch?

just some thoughts

it didnt seem to do it much last nite , but im getting paranoid now about the car:)

im listening out for every noise now , when slowing down through the gears i think i can hear a faint wharring noise

I would have said rear brakes

May be worth just putting handbrake on a bit when moving slowly to see if it will clear up?

If it dont work , then get it checked over
