possible problem with suspension arm bush/arb

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm getting a clunking noise over bumps and on dry days I get a squeaking noise when if I take my foot on or off the throttle any other way than very gently. Am I right in thinking that it's the bush in the suspension arm is starting to go?

And could I get away with taking it on a 50mile round trip at the weekend?:o

It's a June'01 SDI "Classic" Estate.

Cheers guys,

Paul

Look into the "sticky" thread for information is my best answer - we should not try to open even more threads on this subject if possible. I would think driving around for a few more miles will be okay (probably this advice is too late though!)

Thanks rum4mo,

Sorry about starting a new thread. I wasn't sure if it was the arb or the lower suspension arm because it seemed to go away when it got wet. The car made it anyway!:o

Cheers,

Paul

Yes - it's exactly what I had. Have just reported - see my posts "What's this clunk?".
