Problem with ISOFIX in Fabia

Featured Replies

Does anyone else have problem with fitting an ISOFIX child seat to the back seats of a Fabia (ours is a 53 Reg estate)?

The idea of ISOFIX is great but when we tried a Britax Duoplus seat we found that it was very difficult to fit due to the position of the car's isofix mountings. The mounting loops are fitted quite low relative to the rear seat cushion meaning that the child seat has to be pushed down into the seat cushion REALLY hard to get the ISOFIX mounting rails to even touch the mounting loops.

We managed to fit the seat but it is far from easy and nothing like other cars we have seen it on. (They just click straight onto the mountings no problem.)

When fitted, it looks like long-term use could damage the seat cushion material, (even with the mounting adaptors provided by Britax) because it is so compressed.

Anyone else experienced this?

Anyone got experience of ISOFIX seats that fit easily in Fabias?

Thanks!

I have an ISOFIX car seat but yet to fit them, they are Maxi Cosi to go with our Quinny setup, will be fitting the baby seat after my hatchbag seat covers arrive next week, will let you know how I get on.

Iv got a maxi cosi in my vrs and i had to push down to fit, like you say it looks like i will have dents in the foam, my try swopping side to side

The Duoplus is IIRC the model actually sold as a Skoda accessory so I am surprised by this.

I am not sure but maybe the Skoda guides may be better (If they are not the same, the website doesn't show a good picture)

We have a recaro isofix seat that has been fine in both my Fabia and Suzy's Octavia.

I have the Recaro Monza Seatfix ( Isofix ) and TBH its fine. The isofix arms adjust both out and in and up and down.

We never had any problems with Ap0gee Jr's Britax ISOFIX base, other than the need for a bit of fettling to stop the base being on the slant, making her too upright when she was tiny and couldn't hold her own head up.

You could always take the seat cushion out completely, I suppose, and have the base sitting on the carpet underneath? As long as the leg (if it has one) is adjusted correctly so it sits right on the floor, I don't see how this would cause any problems... :ne_nau:
