Camber kits?

Featured Replies

Ok my car still feels poor when cornering (mk1 vrs) after 4wa which has been checked twice now!

I note that my front camber is left= -0 36' right= -0 12'

These seem to be way out of each other, i now you cant adjust the camber but i think you can get adjustable camber kits from whiteline.

Is the camber on my car something to worrying about? and will i benefit from getting a camber kit? Also how much castor should you be running for best corning i think the max for vrs mk1 is 8 20'

This is all a bit new to me but just want to have my car set up to handle probaly!!!!!

Can you adjust the castor? thanks.

Ok just to add to this, im running 0.0 total toe which is good for straight line stability ? So if i have more toe out it should make the car handle better is that correct? The max on my print out says 0.5.

With regard to toe measurement AFAIK, you need to have some degree of toe inwards on the front wheels so that when the car moves forward the physics will point them straight ahead.

If you start with zero or toe out, they will move further out as the car goes forward, which will result in the tyres scrubbing at an angle to the road giving poor handling characteristics, excessive tyre wear and wasted fuel.

Strange that as i do seem to be using more fuel at the moment!!

So are you saying that my toe of zero is causing a problem, thinking back it was not on zero before the 4WA .

The factory settings are total min= -1.1 max= 1.1

Thanks for that mate! regarding the toe i dont like the way it feels with 0 toe so im going to get it changed first to have more toe out within factory specs. They look like what i want, how did you get on with them, and what settings did you run?

A ran at maximum negative camber on those (was for tyre clearance issues more than anything)

Tyres wore fine, and it handled better :)

why not just shift the console to equal out the camber?
