Alarm problem - oh no!!!

Featured Replies

6am, me in the bed, sleeping, and suddenly somewhere some alarm goes off. Wouldn't bother but it sounded with lot of eco. Is it comming from my garage? Dressed up and went down to garage. In the meantime, that alarm sound has stopped. When entered garage, my Octy was with hazard lights blinking.

Oh no, my previous car (Toyota Avensis) had the alarm issue never solved. Not again?!

Unlocked the car with remote, opened all doors, closed, locked with remote and now it's fine. Garage is big, but at this time of the year used only by me. So my car was the only one there. Garage door closed, access locked out, so no signs of someone messing arround.

Now, locking the car with remote I've noticed that led in the drivers door first flashes quickly, like 5 times a second, for about 3-4 seconds and then starts flashing normaly, like once a second. Is this a sign of any kind of failure? I can't remember how the flashes are when everything is OK and I lock it with remote.

This is not a first time. Since I own the car (from new), a bit more then a year, it's like 3rd or 4th time.

Alarm is factory fitted, OEM.

Question:

Is it possible to adjust alarm sensitivity. Can I do it myself? Where is adjustment located?

Thanks for any help.

I have a Factory fitted alarm, after I got it the Motion sensors were not working so they changed the control module. I have also had mine go off for no reason, I mentioned it to dealers a few weeks back and was told its the control module, seemingly theres a newer version. I know Mcgyver also has the same problem. I haven't had the new one fitted yet.
