Fabia 1.4 8V - which spark plug

Featured Replies

Hy

I need to change spark plugs at Fabia 1.4 8V 50kW AQW engine type.

I intend to buy NGK spark plug (supposedly recommended from Skoda) but I do not know which spark plug model is correct.

You are welcome to recommend any other spark plug manufacturer to mount in our fabia engine which could be eventually better on your experince.

Can you help me out with this?

Thanks

VRS Spark plugs? do diesels need spark plugs?!

Yes, I did notice that they seem to claim that the Fabia VRS needs sparkies, i think this is a clerical error, they've probably done one page for the Octavia petrols (which included VRS) and copied it for the Fabia.

I would not now go past NGK - never used them in the past but since now needing to look after VWs and Seats I have nothing bad to say about them. Also, you will find that there is often someone either sell new old stock VAG plugs on ebay or NGKs at near cost price - I've bought from both. The NGK site should let you know which model of plug you need, also, if your car is fitted with VAG branded NKG plugs, you will be able to read off both the VAG p/n (long number/letters and the NGK stock number (short number/letters) - so why not just remove one and see.

Okay, I have now looked at my copy of ETOS and the plugs to be used in a AQW engine are listed as VAG P/N 101 000 060AA BRISK DR15TC as an alternative it lists VAG P/N 101 000 049AC CHAMPION RC89. So it looks like you might not find a suitable NGK plug - but I could be wrong!

Right, I've now checked the NGK web site and the correct NGK plug for your car is BKUR5ET-10 it is NGK's stock number 7553 if that is of any help.

Just to bring this back up....Im looking to fit some Bosch Super 4s into my 1.4 MPi 8v...only thing is Ive been told there are two plugs that can fit my car.

Halfords say FR78X, shope on eBay says FR78 . Is there any difference between these two, or is it one or the other? My engine codes ATZ.
