Piccie request of Black VRS with LCR front splitter.

Featured Replies

Well it's all prepared, trying to scew into the bumper seems a nightmare.

Might pop back and get the shorter screws.

What did you guys use to screw it in, stubby screwdriver? Did you jack the car up?

Just did mine this morning.

Used some ramps but had a couple of planks leading up to them to avoid the front.

I'll pop a proper post up shortly with some pics.

Cheers

Thanks mate, that'd be good.

Really want to fit it, but don't want to rush and put it on wonkey etc...how did you do that? :)

It's raining hard today, so doubt i'll be able to fit it :(

Bloody winter!

ethos, What I did was trim / prep the splitter before I put in on the car. Saves a lot of hassle.

See here for trimming the spoiler and prepping guide.

forget doing the part that says "The part needs to bend slightly so to stop it from deforming and giving a crease I cut 2 small triangles so that it bends easier"

Don't need to do that for the octy.

When you have pre drilled the splitter, jack the car up on axle stands. Then offer the splitter to the bumper, then tape it in place with masking tape where it should fit. I also found someone helping is good to hold it in place. Then use a marker pen to mark the splitter holes to the bumper. Then you can remove splitter and drill through bumper, then offer up splitter again and screw the self tappers in (Job done) I used 15mm self tappers. There is enough room for 20mm as not anything touching bumper that low.

Cool, thanks for that Bowders.

I've alright cut the middle lugs off and pre-drilled the holes on the splitter. So should be ready to put on.

I found when I taped the middle bit, the sides where fairly off and needed some bending to get right. Maybe with some more tape I could get them to stay there though.

Just want to get it on straight!!

Aldi are doing a deal on trolley jacks and axle stands so I think I'll pick up a set of both and do this next weekend!

Might search for good axle points for the front, only ever used them on the back :)

I would also say trim the tab bits flat as well. This was advice to me by vrsphil and was well worth it.

Helped it sit flat.

Cheers

Ah ok, I'll do that now ;)

Thanks guys!

All trimmed, not perfect but much flatter than they were!

:D

ethos, yep I trimmed those tabs, think it stated that in the link.

Also as you found out you do have to apply a little force to get the sides both in line. Again I would bend them to where they should go and then mark the hole. This is where you need someone to hold in place really, so you can step back and check all is correct. when one side is done you can measure the distance from the outer bumper to the splitter to get it even for the other side. Looks like you are neally there now.
