Power steering P/ns

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I have read lots of threads about the power steering problems with the fabia.

Our 2000 plate 1.4 fabia has lost its power steering - it is definetly the pump that has gone.

My question is the P/n for the one in my car is 6QO 423155AE - having major difficulties sourcing one.

Can I use a pump with p/n 6QO 423155AJ

I know you cant use the three cylinder pumps but will this one work - was told AJ was for l/h drive car and wont fit but also told it will.

Am selling the car and dont want to pay 500-600 on a new one when we are selling up.

Any advice greattly appreciated

There is a "refurbisher" from the North East that also carrys fixed ECUs that sells electrio-hydraulic VAG steering pumps - he also sells on ebay but as usual not when you need one! do a search on the web for ECU and steering pump fixers/remanufacturers as they will be a lot cheaper than a new pump - I think that there were two manufactures of these items and "the lot" needs to be sourced from one or the other, I think that VW tended to use TRV whereas Skoda started with ? and moved to TRV.
