 For all of you who say you fitted this in under half an hour i think you must be lying:rolleyes: ....i have just fitted Quintens to his VRS and what a pig it was, not only baking hot but everything was as tight as a ducks a**e. You were right about the allen key bolts:mad: all this coming from a motor techie; still Quinten was happy with the end results and even i was impressed................another mod; on the horizon me thinks:D

nice to meet you Quinten

 Phil

Phil, it can be done in 30 minutes, about 10 with practice. My first attempt took about 40 minutes and that included jacking the car up.

Professionals eh? Who needs 'em! :P ;)

:D

Glad Q is happy with what it does.

 it took me 30mins; just to get the 8mm allen bolt back in.the one on the "TIP" was a doddle:rolleyes:

perhaps i talk to much:rofl:

And it was a pleasure to meet you Phil !

I think the keyword is 'jacking the car up'. Without doing so you (well Phil :)) spend a lot of time fiddling around to find the place to put the bolt back in, whilst I suspect that if you get under the car it is a no-brainer...

And yes, am very happy with it. We left the disclaimer on though... "Only for use on race cars, not for public road cars" (or similar worded) :D.

Yup sub 30 minutes, but I also had time to talk to a nice lady *waves to Fran* and 2 cups of coffee on a sofa...

...so your happy Mr Q, but can you feel anything different with the ass-dyno?

First time I pulled hard away (after fitted) I felt a hesitation, 2nd time I'm sure I felt a surge, after that it feels (again) a bit smoother. Hard to put finger on it, so we will have to wait until it goes on the rollers this Friday...

Aye...that 8mm allen bolt is a real bar steward.!

I could put the bolt back in but not with the wire holder as well...will try again now my knuckles are healed. ;)

TIP bolt can be done form above once you've done it a few times. ;)

Theres a neuspeed one for sale in the 'for sale' section:D (shameless plug)

Throttle response/spool up was so much better with it fitted to mine, can really tell the difference now i've gone back to standard:(

Cheers

Phil.

why have you gone back to standard?

Removing all mods from the car, car might have to go soon:(

I had more problems jacking my car up when changing my TIP, compared with the job itself, as I had brought a trolley jack to lift the car on to axle stands, however the tolley jack was to deep to fit under the car. It is a relatively quick job, changing the standard air box to a intake pipe with a filter on the end took far longer.....
