DV removal and EML

Featured Replies

Or should that be DV removal and NO EML

Removed the DV last night as per a suggestion with the hesitation.

Yes the hesitation goes, but then as I said before, alot of the boost is being bled off as a result as the dv will be open, thus proving not alot.

However, curiously, blanking off the pipes and taking the car for a spin, I experienced no EML.

I thought this was meant to put the light on!

Discuss!

AIUI the EML is triggered by an overboost condition, which obviously doesn't happen with the dump valve open.

No did not cause any light on with me Mike. There will be a fault code logged though, which i will remove if you still want your throttle realigning?

Also you can borrow the vac cannister and pipes i got from the breakers to test on yours if you haven't already got one?

Thanks mate - I think I know why my VAG COM Lead isnt working though - and i intend to fix that tonight lol - laptop usb ports are fubar - gonna re-install windows as i reckon the FTDI drivers have gone U/S.

I may try the vac option though, although I suspect its the crap boost control setup as standard LOL

I mean, you cant even load the car up on the brakes as the dv will dump all the air and wont let you back on the throttle until you've let off the brake and the throttle pedal.
