Front control arm bushes

Featured Replies

At its last MOT my fathers Fabia had to have a new anti roll bar. It was also advised on having new control arms fitted,, which he didn't have done. At 35k!!!!

I've read all the anti roll bar stories on the forum and and would like a few about the track control arms. Someones pointed out you're lucky to get 60k out of a set!

Well I mean my old man does thrash his Fabia. HE'S 82 YEARS OLD FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!! He's waiting for the new Vrs to be launched then he'll go really mad.

We never had these issues with our Felicias.

the rear console bushes , which i assume is what you mean do have a habit of splitting , and depending on the age and mileage they could well be split, a good independant VAG specialist should be able to fit new bushes , bushes are about £7 each

It also depends on loadsa things to be honest....

There a pain to replace too....

Could be a good idea to sort this problem for once and for all and buy some Seat Ibiza Cupra TCA rear bushes as they are solid so should not be so prone to tearing.

This is why I left Skoda.... they REFUSED to replace mine under warrenty , even though I sent all the info designating this as a design fault that effects all this type of car.... seat replace them under warrenty, but skoda refused mine, even tho they have replaced many members bushes under warrenty... they just said "natural wear and tear" where it is a FACT that this is a maufacturing fault in the fabia's suspension.... f***ing sucks....... :finger:

*sorry, bit ****ed, but all true though.......

Unfortunately I tend to agree. OK fathers Fabia is an April 2000 model but to be told it needs an anti roll bar at 35k and costing £180. Then also advised to replace the track control arm bushes! To be told Skoda have revised them. So Skoda know the problem so why not replace them for free!

We never had these issues 10 years ago with our Felicias!!

well at least you got yours sorted, one happy customer!
