Second Rear Fog ........ again.

Featured Replies

My dealer said he could get my second rear fog working and did it for free when I paid a small mortgage to have a Skoda removeable tow bar fitted.

Great it works well until..........

....today I left the right hand indicator on when leaving the car and yes the front and rear right hand parking lights lit up .... so did all of the rear left hand lights except reversing and fog light.

As a matter of interest I put the left hand indicator on and yes at the back all the right hand lights as above lit up plus the left hand front and rear parking light.

I do remember the receptionist saying something about a wire having to be run between the rear light clusters but I've looked and can't see a "rogue" wire.

Help!!!!!

Was just a twiddle of a few bits using VAG COM as far as I was aware.

If the dealer tech has hard wired the fog lights together he ought to be shot. It's all done via coding with VAS or VAG-COM

The Mk.I could be done by bridging the two but not the Mk.II

It could be a ground feedback or similar as (on the estate at least) the C shaped lighting is achieved in the following manner:

Top: 1 x 21 watt bulb, full for braking, dim for rear lighting

Middle upper and lower: 2 x W5W wedge bulbs, constant voltage for rear lighting

bottom: 1 x 21 watt bulb, reduced voltage for rear lighting and full voltage for fog light.

This is how I did it:

There are no end of lighting options possible so it could be botched coding as well but my money is on a bridge wire

its one tick on vagcom, easy peasy and the skoda garage need to be shot. bit worrying they done that when they are meant to be an approved skoda outlet.

No, look at the link in the previous post, you need to un-tick one and tick the other ;)

Take it back and rocket them, to fix it properly.

get them to return it to the state it was before they masacared it and get a friendly member on here to vag com it ;)
