Shall i send the council the bill?????!!!!!

Featured Replies

I would ring the council and make a claim.

I hit one in my Focus which hurt a lot. They sorted out the damage and repaired the hole very quickly.

I hit a pot hole in my octavia and bamaged the wheel, alloy and scraped the bottom of the bumper. I took photos of the hole and its location and sent it all to the council with a well worded letter. They paid up the full amount for the damage (minus a small amount - about 10% of the tyre value as it had done 2000 miles). In all the claim came to around £800 I think. I was lucky in that I did not have to fight at all, just got a letter saying that their assessor had reviewed the case and that they were prepared to offer this amount. I did not bother argueing for the extra bit for the tyre (life is just too short)!!! Hope this helps

Just an update.

Got a letter a week ago sying that they were dealing with my complaint.

Got a phone call today from a bloke investagating the claim.

They have filled the pot hole!:D

I know for a fact that Bournemouth Council here would tell you to eat ****.The roads here are terrible pot holes, bumps, drain covers god i could go on.

Yep, but I heard b'mouth council don't like you turning up at their town hall and causing noise.

Ahh i know that the hole has to be 3" deep before you can complain... and also the hole has to be reported to the council for a minium time (not sure how long tho).

Saves the council paying out all the time!!

Hope this helps
