True - but not perhaps for the reasons you think!

LMFAO.

Gash Gash And Double Gash

Think that one is pretty quiet - as dump valves should be.

I wouldnt bother, they leak boost and you loose performance. A proper nice dump valve should tight and fast hiss, not a big loud wooootush noise that you hear so often.

I look round and think kn()b when i hear a whoooosh

Much better off getting dump noises coming from your TDI thanks to a BFO turbo and some good tuning. More expensive though. :o

^^^ Agreed, wish i had more money :(

don't do it there is one near where I stay another yellow vrs and it sounds terrible.

Turning heads, that's what it's all about.

Erm..... dumping to atmosphere on a TDI will throw a fault code and cause the engine to go into limp mode.

nar the forge one overcomes this faultcode. still wouldnt have one due to the fact that it costs a fair bit and does............NOTHING!

How ? Does it recirc some of the gas back in ?

I dunno TBH, it just doesnt throw lights up. I think the tdi is different to the 20v t which will throw up a fault code.

I know the car doesnt throw up fault codes when a boost pipe pops of so why should it be bothered when the dump valve dumps boost

Yeah, innit. Wiked.

Is there any point, on a PD with a variable turbo the vanes are shut right down when off throttle so theres no boost remaining. Plus the DV needs to be electrnically operated as there is no vacum feed to open it when coming of the throttle.

there is a vaccuum feed as it needs it to dump my 306 dt has a vaccuum feed on it cant see the fabia being any different

It is different.... and I can say from experience the VAG PD engines do not have any such feed.

On a VAG diesel, The throttle is controlled by the amount of fuel going into the engine and there is no throttle body, therefore no vacum, therefore no vacum feed, and no DV.

Dumpvalve on a Diesel is pointless as it doesnt have a throttle.

A loud dump valve whoosh coming from an Escort Cosworth coming down the road is cool. Infact, very cool. But hearing it from a Skoda Diesel?? One of the vRS' selling points is subtlety surely?

y dosent any 1 just anser the question?

It's just a really expensive noise maker. The money can be put to much better use elsewhere, Where it'll actually count.

Probably because it's been answered before. I thought it was quite clear from what's been said in this thread too. I believe there are a few people on here who have fitted one, but not many who own up to it because...

It's a waste of time, effort and money!

In theory it can actually reduce the performance. It will still go *whoosh* but this is accompanied by the usually rough clatter of a PD engine. It's just an expensive toy that has no actual positive application other than to make 14 year olds look at it as it slinks past them at the bus stop.
