Anyone else use these over SKY+?

Had it installed a few weeks ago and in general im very happy but it so flippin noisy and seems to do all sorts of random startups during the night!

Are Sky+ boxes noisy, I know they have a HDD and a fan in them but its far worse then a desktop pc

I have spoken to Virgin and they say its normall but I cant belive it.

Thanks

My old Sky+ box DID wake me up during the night

I don't have any problems with the V+ box

I have a V+ box. The hard disk can be a bit noisy at times but it does actually park itself if not used for some time.

Hmmm, think I may give support another call see if they can send someone over to take a look as it now seems to be displaying a yellow bar saying press yellow for on demand but no button presses get rid of it only powering the box on and off sorts it out

I've had one since mid december, can be noisey sometimes i need to 'whack' the case and it shuts up. I must check the case screws are tight etc. Its not the HDD that causes the most noise, just the vibration.

I have 1 and i have no issues with it

Had my V+ since about October & it has always been a rather noisy box to say the least!

Haven't done anything about it though, just thought it was normal

our sky+ box and Sky HD boxes aren't noisey at all:)

they don't really do anything random either(well sometimes the HD one seems to turn itself off).
