Hi, after 18 months as a VW owner I am back with an Octavia as I needed more space :)

I picked up my 2nd hand mk2 Octy up on Friday (1.9tdi elegance, 04 plate) and on the whole i am very impressed, however I have a problem with it not hot-starting, it doesnt do it all the time but it sometimes thuds and stops instead of starting properly. If I crank it for longer than normal it does start ok but I assume a temperature sensor or something is a little sick as cold starting it starts instantly with no issues at all.

i do have the vag-com free version so I will probably be seeing if that can tell me anything later on but just wondered if anyone had any ideas on what this might be as other than that its a great car!
