Is it really worth spunking another £13k on an se

I loved my SE, use to wash it twice a week, drove it like I stole it, ****ed over all other cars in its class  an just loved it :cool:

I was thinking just buying a vRS, have a one off paint job, led lights (the R8 lights:rolleyes:), custom interior and usual mods to handling and engine :D

Buy mine :)

If it were me I would buy a nice normal kitted up fabia, sunroof, xenons, cruise and leather.

The with the rest of the money mod it.

I wish i had xenons on mine

If i was you id get a job then think about a modded car...

Personal opinion and all that....

In the mean time, get a fabia tdi.

yea

Ah, right....didnt know that, thought you had sold it...and wanted another!

Sorry!

Suprised you can drive though if its that bad, without pain..

and knowing that it has been booted....

You don't know a car has been booted... You booted yours anyway, so I am not sure how much difference it is going to make.

I am sorry that you lost your car in an accident that wasn't your fault, and I hope you get on the road to recovery quickly. As Baps has said, his motor is for sale and you would avoid a chunk of the depreciation - also gaining a few more options.

You never know you might spend all the £13k on a new one and then find out that you fall in love with a mkII Fabia vrs and want one of then.

yeah I wonna get a job but I can`t because of the accident... its ****ed my back, I can`t bend down it hurts so much... Ive lost everything

Prioritize things a bit.

You cant work due to a bad back, so why do you need a new car?

Why would it make any difference who had 'booted it' before if thats the way you drive anyway?

From personal experience if your back is that bad then a vRS should be the last car on your list you will need something with proper full lumbar adjustment (not something like the crude VAG version on their non electric seats)

£13k for a second hand SE vRS?

Simple answer is NO. I think Skoda is playing the SE / Ltd ed. thing a bit too much.

The only SE i know of at that kinda price is 0001 at rainworths in Mansfield....

But...dont do it....get a 53/54 plate vrs.

Mine was about half of 13k.......

It is a nice car, i can confirm!

Wouldn't buy an SE, as ESP not fitted.

By choice, wouldn't have a car without ESP.

RBW.

In your position, I'd get the job and health issues sorted, then consider car options.

Doesn't make sense in my mind to buy another SE at that money. Would perhaps be a bit different if they were available at a more realistic price...

Seconded

IMHO also I'd think about taking some calming pills and IAM driving lessons cos - from your description - it seems you're an accident waiting to happen and I'm glad you live so far away. :P

There must be some Billion or more drivers on this planet - but how many are Good Safe drivers.

The Fabby has brought about a touch of hooligan in me :o, but only in the right places and times - you don't have to race everything on the planet you know.

You got some xtra energy to spare, then channel it into something like an IAM course, a sport to take out everyday frustrations - otherwise it is only you that will suffer in the end.

And brand new cars are lovely - till you work out the economics :thumbdwn:

Send me a pm when you get your new motor, ill sort some white wheels for ya ;)

Im not after a fast vRS, Im after a vRS with all the extras on (and pref in red);)

thou if the right car came

the vRS goes fast enough for me, I don`t have money to burn and there is no point going fast on roads these days because there is so much traffic about and regulations :weeping:

altho the accident wasn`t my fault with my vRS SE, its still heart braking just to know that you`ve gotta start all over again :scared:

IMHO if your wiling to spend £13k on a car then why not buy a 3 year old 330d Sport?

In 3 years time it will still be worth the best part of £8k

Or if you dont want a saloon why not buy an Ibiza Cupra PD or the Leon Cupra TDI/FR TDI for £7k+ or a Golf GT TDI 150 or even the Mk5 Golf GT 140 all for well under £10k loads more kit as std and it would fulfill your needs as a hatchback.

Failing that IF you must have a "New" car go for the Fiat Grande Punto Sporting 1.9 130bhp for £11k fully loaded with 4 years 0% apr with only 30% deposit.

I'm still amazed they cut the lid off yours as otherwise it would have been quite easily repairable.

Certainly my MK I octy looked a lot shorter and more bent than the SE did and I wasn't cut out. What I would say is that if your back is as bad as you are saying, I was having major problems driving for a few months so pretty much took a train to work and even then got sent home as the pain killers made me fall over a few times.

I don't think an insurance company would be impressed you driving like that and would have something to say if you had an accident due to a lack of mobility.

IMHO get yourself sorted as best you can and then let the doctor/physio tell you when it is safe to drive again.

the whole point of having a Skoda Fabia vRS

  • Cheap to insure
  • Good Looking
  • Holds its value by 49%
  • Reliable
  • Great on fuel
  • Hot Hatch
  • Quick
  • sensible

nope Im having a vRS thanks, they are Very practical and Unless Welshy your gonna buy me a car :P

use to work in fleet and the vRS is the best practical, hot hatch on offer. the 330d DRINKs, an its a costly car and every other car just can`t match the fabia vRS

All those cars I listed are in the same 2nd hand price rangeas the vRS. Now please tell me why you think say a 3 year old vRS which is worth around £8k will depreciate less than a 330d 6 years old for £8k?

Or why you think a Golft GT TDI 150 for £5-6k which has climate control better seates 90ltrs bigger boot recaro front seats 6 cd multichanger std more functions on the trip computer likewise the Cupra & FR Leons why are theyworse? £5-7k for either a Leon or a Golf GT TDI150 is bang on the money a fabis in that price range has only air con and single cd player
