Headlight washer holes

Featured Replies

The new vRs bumper I'm getting has these holes in it. I've been warned that when filled in, it's likely to still be obvious as the filler tends to be a different material, and also sinks over time.

I've taken the decision therefore to just use this fine black mesh I'm using on the mouth, from the inside. The bumper will be totally resprayed first though. Having reservations, but don't see an easy way of getting round it (unless I buy headlight washer jets of course - wonder if they could be retrofitted.... hmmmm :D)

Get a pair of washer jet covers and permanently fix them to the bumper.

Yep, I was about to suggest that too.

would make sense

Hmm - I kinda answered my own question whilst drafting out the first post eh?:rolleyes:

Any idea on price?

I would go the full hog matey and retro fit the washers.

Parts youd need would be off the top of my head.

5l washer bottle, both jets and covers, abit of piping, the pump.

The get a relay and connet it up to the wires running into the windscreen washer pump so that when you pull the stalk to clean your windows it cleans the headlights too :D

No idea on cost tho........... Hopefully not as expensive as volvos washers....... just paid near on 300 quid for one for the s40

Can't see them being too expensive, May take a while to get them, Not a regularly ordered part

Hmmm, I think I will stick to the jets only. ;) I've had no need for headlight washers for 6 years, and there's no plan to spend hundreds on getting them now.

Or check out the group buy feeler and have the bright lights too

Nah - I'm v.happy with my stock lights with X-treme bulbs.

I'd rather spend the money on the engine :D

You only really miss them when they are not there....

Nope. Doubt I would ever miss them. :)

Anyone know how much these bits are? Easy enough for me to get the part number/s but my "source" has no prices. :o

The jets are rubbish, the only reason I used them was for the wow factor, sad I know :) The only reason they came with the car was because I specc'd it up with Xenon headlights, how I miss those on the Roomster....

Why would they take ages to get them then?

Is that what your dealer tells you?!

Sorry mate, we dont order many of them so you will have to wait!

(Unless there is a genuine backorder!)

never takes more than 2 to 3 days if VAG HQ have them in stock.

I'll give the dealer a ring tomorrow. :) Was hoping to find one off a scrapper as all I need is the jets themselves. :)

I know, i work for a dealer....

Thats why i was asking him if he has been told that if they dont sell many then you cant have them!
