avon tyres

Has anybody tried Avon ZZ3 tyres on an Octy VRs:confused:

I had some fronts on my old Octavia for a while (not VRS but similar spec). They're OK-ish. Grip in the wet is pretty feeble.

I have had them before and they are Ok but will only last for about 10K :)

I had some on the front of my car until September. Like the guy said, pretty poor in the wet. But ok. Still got ZV3's on the rear, but that's only because they still have grip on them! Think I'll put some Khumo KU31's back there when I need to. Really impressed by the KU31's in the wet, and they're reasonably priced.

I wouldn't get them anyway. The reason Avon tyres were not included in a recent Evo tyre test was that Avon are going to be releasing a new high performance tyre soon, and I guess they knew the dated ZZ3's wouldn't compare well to the competition.

Go to the Evo website and find the review, might be handy.

Avon now owned by the US tyre company "Cooper" we are main dealers for Avon and Cooper;) but no i wouldn`t put them on mine:rolleyes:

I had ZZ3's on my octy VRS estate before i sold it...were ok...but were quite hard and a bugger to warm up in th ewinter/rain.....lasted 20,000 on the front though. I think they're differant to the ZV3's AFAIK.

I have zv3s on my PD140 Mk2 octavia and they haven't lasted brilliantly.

The main problem seems to be poor grip in the wet so they easily spin up and wear prematurely

Had ZZ3's on my Fabia... lasted about 5k lol

Grip was good all round

ZZ3`s are rotational where as the zv3`s are assimetrical

Same as everyone else- they've been on the fronts for around 5K, and they're not gonna last much longer :(

Good grip though.

I put a pair of them on a mondeo a while back. They did not last long at all, no more than 6k. I wouldn't get them again, if for no other reason than they wear too quickly.

True. I've got ZV3's on mine and they seem fine - done about 15,000 miles on them and I reckon I'll probably get at least another 10K out of them.
