MFD2 not seeing satellites

Featured Replies

I've just got a 55 plate Octy II Elegance with the MFD2 and it is not seeing any satellites. It has an old car kit fitted, so I know the unit has been out and am hoping that it is just the antenna lead has fallen off, but has anyone got any other ideas before I pull it out?

Also where is the GPS antenna on the Octy? My old Superb had the bit in front of the bee sting, but the is not one on the Octy.

If you don't have the 'bulge' on the roof mount then I'd say that there is either one under the dash or it isn't fitted - either way it's a retrofit and not factory.

I finally got round to pulling this out of the dash over the weekend and sure enough there is the GPS antenna on top of the air box serving the centre vents. However it has a stupidly long cable on it, enough to run it to the tail gate and back I would think and it was all kinked up behind the unit. I pulled it out and re-coiled it properly and suddenly it knows where it is.

I was going to add in a cable to feed my MP3 player to the AUX in, but was a little concerned to see the relevant connector already wired up? Is this normal and can I just 'T' the new wire in, or do I need to do/get something else?
