Got my race injectors back

Featured Replies

But one of them is bloody not working right! SO glad I had them sent to an injector specialist to be rigged up and trialled beforehand.

Three of them are perfect producing almost identical fuelling for a given pressure. (Think it was about 410 "fuel" at 400 bar. Don't know the measurements, However, one nozzle was producing over 600 fuel" at 360 bar, so that one needs to go back.... I don't like the idea of having one injector chucking in 50% more fuel than the other three....!

So glad I didn't just take them and fit them without trying them out. Big shout out to Keith at United Diesel up north for testing them once they arrived at his place from the US. :)

Where do you get all your money from jas?!

 hes an accountant

I'll be surprised if the outfit in the US even admits they know you now. I had one injector seize and cause valvetrain damage, despite me sending them a copy of the cc receipt, etc - they didnt want to admit any liability at all.

They blamed the PD oil, the fitting, surprised they didnt blame the lunar cycle too!

And were "willing to sell me another complete set IF I had them fitted by a facility they recommend". W^nkers! :finger:

I had one injector from them jam up after only 500km and damage my camshafts - and only thanks to Jason and Apdiesels.com I managed to get the car working again. The least they should have done is accept the injector back, see what was wrong and provide a replacement. They didnt even want to tell me what the injection quantity was so I could source a match elsewhere- IT"S 92MG/CYL OK???!!!:finger: And ONLY 92mg/cyl - you can get far bigger ones elsewehere.

Apart from the Peloquin ATB, I've had nothing but grief with US-supplied parts for my car. Not that I'm anti-yank at all at all, but that's my experience...

rant over, feeling quite calm and friendly again.....

 Calm down Bas! You'll give yourself a aneurism (sp? :D)

Not had a reply back from said supplier, but as they comm'd well with me during the upheavel of finding the first nozzles were dodgy, I expect they'll happily take back the injector again, or at best, send me out a fresh pd130 injector with the same nozzle in. :)

We'll see. I'm in no rush, but it would be nice for it all to be in by April when my next Santa Pod session is planned.

rofl - Just needed to get it all off my chest - the barstewards cost me money, time off the road and then acted deliberately dumb...

The fact that they tried twice to unsuccessfully set up nozzles for you and then send you a set where 3 out of 4 were working correctly speaks volumes on its own...

If I were you I'd send the lot back and get them in from E. Europe. Probably be far better quality...

Thank goodness for good mates like yourself - it's when times are tough you know who your mates are....

That valvetrain bit you sent me saved my tail....

And I got the other one the same for the next time. ;) :P

They've offered to send me a new nozzle so am now waiting on my UK injector guy to get back to me as to whether he can do the nozzle swap himself, then test it to ensure comparability.

Does anyone have the stock fuel pressures for pd130 injectors? This is how I got my readings back from the injector place up north

injector 1 417 bar 456 fuel

injector 2 400 bar 438 fuel

injector 3 365 ? bar 620 fuel poor atomization

injector 4 409 bar 448 fuel

And I got the other one the same for the next time. ;) :P

There ain't gonna be no next time me old mate :D:rofl:

Well, my nozzle supplier is being good, and they're sending out a new nozzle, or two (to confirm) and the place my injectors are at up north are going to be able to swap them for me, and retest.

Fingers crossed they work

Well, I only need to cross my fingers for the dodgy one. I know three are perfect and producing near identical fuelling at the same pressure.

From what i have seen i would steer clear until someone can really produce a good uprated injector. I would bet that the extra power produce by these "injectors" won't be much and will produce more smoke more than anything else.
