felicia buying what to look for.

Featured Replies

Dont come into this part of the forum much ;)

Have owned a fabia vrs for a full year now and i am looking for a cheap secondhand car.

Been looking in particular at the felicia 1.9d hatchs.

Anything common i should be looking for when viewing these cars.

Cheers in advance

You may come in and play as long as you behave decently :D

Think most weak points are covered in the post Jaymz gave you. You'll like a Felly - you'll have the feeling of going very fast even if you're well below the speed limits. And when you lift the bonnet you could see the engine and everything, not just a stupid plastic cover!

Also, the Felly section is an extremely friendly and helpful bunch of Briskodians.

gearboxes have been known to fail on diesels - tyres are a bit thin as the diesel is nose heavy so front end grip is nothing special

Felicias are good cheap cars

Cheap to buy, cheap(ish) to run and good to drive

Mine has a little engine cover but isnt one of those that covers the entire bay.

Common things are the dampers and rust. dont let that put you off. They are quite tough.

I would honestly say the 1.3 is the engine to go for now. I own a diesel car and with the price of Diesel being so high now there really is no economical advantage.

The 1.3's are simplicity itself to work on.

Personally I prefer the Favorit, but the Felicia is still a very good car. Oh and power steering is a nice optional extra if you can find it.
