High emissions due to remapping???

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas as my 01 occy vrs has failed the MOT on emissions i have had the lambda sensor changed temp sensor changed and also another cat put on it (this was from a briskoda member's car and only having done 19000 miles) and although it has lowered the emissions a great deal its still not passing. There is no fault codes showing and the mechanic has gone through everything he can think of. This car's former owner was also a Briskoda member (Rhys57) and it appears he had the car Remapped, what i was wondering is could remapping be the cause of the High emissions?? maybe to much petrol going through the cat for it to handle? Also if anyone knows who remapped it could they let me know please as i have a few queries.

if all else fails its gonna a trip to those guys at jabba.

Thanks

Drive it hard the next time you go in for an mot.

Erm yeah gave it a damn good thrashing :shiner: as suggested my the garage but it still didn't make too much difference:(

M8 sorry to hear this....Feeling guilty selling you my cat now:O Can you send me the figures that the emission test is giving? have they gone through the "BET" test then correctly identified your engine code on vehicle specific?

Phil
