Some one told me I could change the sound the car horn makes with VAG-com and the appropriate code.

My car has an obnoxious and useless (no one hears it) sounding horn, sounds like something of a motorbike or clown car, I want the "normal" german sounding one.

Help?

The VAG-COM referance to changing the "anti-theft" horn does not carry across to what I think you are meaning, ie the normal car horn. If you want to get rid of the "clown car" noise then you will need to buy a second - probably "low tone" horn and wire it up to the first using a relay as the wiring will not like carrying twice the load.

Apparently the Stebel Nautilus is a good horn (from what I have read in reviews and testimonies online). They are apparently available in Halfords and Motor World and come supplied with a relay. There's a sample sound on the Stebel website.

I am considering getting one myself for general horn purposes (my horn is louder/better than yours etc lol) and to wire to my alarm siren positive wire with a relay. Should make some people take notice of it and hopefully I'll be able to hear my alarm better (can't hear it in the house). I guess I should have got an alarm with a horn honk output, but I've bought and installed it now. Only problem is with the alarm sounding, the horn would sound continuously (I imagine) and drain the battery.
