Change stereo in Octavia II? How to?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I´m new to this forum, and my friends at skodaklubben.se recommended me to ask my question here.

I have a Skoda Octavia Rs II with Stream stereo.

I want to change to my Pionner DVD HU instead, but I want to keep the original speakers (for now anyway).

I don´t want to use any extra amplifier, its my wifes car, and she need the space.

I bougt some adapters that I was told was needed,

7L0051445A Radioadapter

7L0051551A Adaptercable

But I´m not getting it to work at all. I get power to the HU but no sound.

All speaker cabels are fitted as they should.

Have anyone changed stereo in their Octavia II and still have original speakers and the amplifier under the seat?

Many thanks to the one that can help me!

Hi,

You have a stream and the amp under the seat for the 12 speaker system? I thought you could only get that with an Audience head unit.

Is the underseat amp powering up and getting warm? U ask this as I don't know it the amp uses a voltage from teh HU to turn on or a CAN bus signal.

If the latter you're probably going to have to find a "standard" amp to replace this and run the speakers from the pioneer unit.

its now way no now if the amp is powering up.

It don´t seem to be any wires that comes from the original HU to the amp, and i now that it is two canbus that goes in the amp.

If you look at the diagram from the old head unit is there an amp out/rad pwr/rad on wire at the bottom of one of the two upright connectors?

If not you are going to be needing to swap the amp out or find another way to force it to pwoer.
