Seat belt removal...

Featured Replies

Right i'm finally going to get round to fixing the passenger seat beat this weekend. Ive tried to remove the panel which conseals the belt retractor but can't seem to budge it and i don't want to break it, so does anybody know the correct way to remove it without using the special 'brute strength' tool i keep in the bottom of the tool kit!!!

Ta

I don't know what is wrong with your belt. One of mine was retracting slowly so my wife took the car to the local stealer. They sprayed the belt with a sillicon spray, wiped the spray off and now the belt retracts beautifully. The spray doesn't seem to have affected the belt at all although it feels very slippery. I assume the belt was pulled out fully before spraying. I will try to get further details from SWMBO to see if she recognised the spray that was used. However, it seems like they had encountered the problem before and knew a quick fix.

Anybody have any tips on removing the plastic panal that covers where the seat belt disappears into? I dont want to rip it off and have to buy a replacement part if i dont have to!

planning on doing mine soon too, passenger side front, hmmm

ive just had a go at mine but rain has stopped play, i kinda just pulled at things, i think the lower trim panel might have to come off first, the one thats on the inner sill and runs front to back

its just held on with the same kind of clips as the tailgate trim panel, id recommend pulling it from the passenger front where it meets another trim

and.....

oh my god what a stupid complicated arrangement of trim panels and door seals !!!......i must have had them off 5 times to figure out which order everything needs to go back together in !
