ONE wiper not functional

Featured Replies

Yesterday the driver-side wiper stopped working while the passenger-side wiper kept on wiping. Two years ago I hade the wiper linkage changed (at least the motorshop told med that they dig change it...). Do you think that it is the wiper-linkage again?

Sounds like its popped out of the balljoint? Youll have to pop the plastic scuttle off to investigate further.

I'd agree; other than the linkage, there's not really any way you can have one live and one dead wiper.

The nut could be loose that holds the arm to the linkage, this would wear the arm - meaning a new arm would be needed.

I do not hve the car right here now but I remember that last time I tried to take a look underneath the plastic I couldn´t figure it out how to remove it. Anyone that have a link to a guide or something? I´ve searched and found some useful tips but not "the whole package"..

I think you need to lift the plastic caps off the nuts, You then need WD40 and a socket wrench to untighten them, then the arms lift straight off.

To find out if the driver side wiper seized and stripped the inner grooves just try to move it by hand with the wipers off. If it moves by itself without also actuating the other wiper this is it. Try to test this with the wipers lifted off the glass, makes the job easier.
