P Zero Rosso tyres

Featured Replies

Post-Bruntingthorpe, my original tyres weren't too happy :( and as they'd covered 24.5k miles it was time for change, so after reading the reviews and searching the posts I thought I'd try some 225/45 ZR17 Rosso's.

I went to Merityre in Thame on Saturday and Phil (piv34uk) fitted a set of P Zero Rossos to my Octy. I was very impressed by the job he did - he cleaned the wheels inside and finger plate balanced them (as recommended by Aston, Jaguar, etc) and I would like to say thanks Phil  and thanks again for the price :thumbup:

The Pirelli's are much better than the standard tyres, even before they're scrubbed in and they hold the corners very well in the dry. I also went for the flush fit valves (after seeing them on Phil's vRS) and nitrogen. If you want a professional job at a decent price, send Phil a PM.

Finger plate balancing is where instead of normally when a wheel is balanced and it is mounted on a central spindle and spun round, the wheel is mounted using the 5 wheel bolt holes so it replicates it being on the car and should give a truer balance (as far as I understood it anyway!)

Flush fit valves are exactly that, they fit flush to the wheel rim - very neat.

Here's a link to show what they look like, you then get an allen key and an adaptor so you can top them up, check the pressure, etc.

:D Glad to help Andy, nice to have met you and your lad........hope the tyres are bedding in nicely.....i normally state they need scrubbing in for a good 200miles but as you proved to me after fitting they grip well @ speed after just being fitted:rolleyes:  Thanks for the write up :o

Finger plate balancing is Pirelli`s recomended way of balancing wheels and Andy has explained it well, he was obviously listening:thumbup: We are after all a Pirelli Gold fitting centre

 Phil

Yeah thanks for the explanation.

I'm always interested in balancing since I had probs on a car (years ago mind) with mis-balance. After returning for the 3rd time I noticed the machine was set to "static" as opposed to "dynamic" ~ asked the guy what the difference was and he didn't know

Guess how we fixed my balance problem? Go on....guess! :P
