Remote Locking Woes

Featured Replies

OK, I've been driving a 1.9 tdi Ambient Estate for a week now and racked up 700 miles.

The thing that really bugs me is the remote locking, apart from it being in hi-jack mode the locking/unlocking seems to work on the key fob when it wants to and at other times I have to lock/unlock with the key blade.

Also, the boot button on the fob has never unlocked the boot, is this a feature of the hijack mode?

Not entirely sure if this is related to the radio sometimes turning itself off when the ignition is turned off and key withdrawn and sometimes staying on.

As there is also an airbag light showing I shall get it in to the local dealer to reset (have a feeling this might be something to do with a parrot bluetooth kit being fitted)- and take the hi-jack feature off, but the locking issue was there before.

Any ideas on this seemingly random issue?

I had similar issues last year. After my local delaer changing the battery is both keys, the problems persisted.

In the end, it was noticed that the little red light was not flashing when I used the keys, so two new keys were ordered under warranty and touch wood, the problems have not come back.

OK, I'll dig out the other key, but the red light on the one I'm using seems fine.

It is related to the radio seemingly, if I pull up and turn off the ignition rapidly and withdraw the key quickly the radio goes off and the car will lock/unlock when I come back to it on the remote. If I turn off through position one and slowly withdraw the key the radio stays on, then I need to use the key in the door lock to lock and unlock again.

Funny thing happened today, pulled up outside a shop and locked the car on the remote, as I did this the Peugeot behind me unlocked, I turned round and couldn't see anybody around. Went in to the shop and asked if it belonged to anyone, it was the woman serving, explained what happened and she went off the deepend. Really had a go at me for it, like I had set out to upset her. She went out and locked it and gave me such a filthy look on her way back in that I just put the stuff down and left, she sure lost a customer today.
