Sorry, no - but are you absolutely sure you need one? There are other (cheaper) components that can cause PAS problems.

the guy in the garage has said that the sensor & PUMP ARE BOTH u/s , ive already purchased the sensor but the pump is proving to be a little difficult to find.

Have you tried the new sensor with the old pump? Think I'd be tempted to give it a try - you've nothing to lose!

Cheers 4 trying to help me.

The guy has said to me that apparently the old plastic sensor had broken up and that the plastic had been drawn into the pipes or something like that.

Sounds unbelievable along with the quote.

Doesthis sound feasible 2 you.

Can't see why, the sensor fits low down at the base of the steering column - it measures the rate of turn of the steering wheel. If bits were breaking off it (which I have never seen before) then I would expect them to get into the rack hydraulics first. The pump is well away from this behind the passenger side front bumper forward of the road wheel. The plastic sleeved sensors are notorious for going wrong, hence they have been superceded by a slightly different design and are available on an exchange basis. A sensor is around £70 with around an hour to fit. A pump is around £450, an hours labour plus some fluid.

What is the diagnosis based on, fault codes? Do the measuring block values for steering rate of turn correlate with the actual rate of turn? Is it a Skoda garage, a specialist, have they experience of VW electro-hydraulic PAS systems.

For used parts these people are very good.

Intresting whats this about an exchange basis? I need to change my sensor but the problem seems to have gone for the time been so have learnt to live with it and put it off.

I to was worried what would happen if the sensor finally packed in or if water could get in behind it would it effect the pump.
