My new Fab VRS

Featured Replies

I see Dstorey has logged off but I can answer yes he does work in Hursley

Thought so! :D

Yep, I've got the black magic vRS with Xenons :-)))))) Do you work in HUrsley too?

You cant have been trying very hard if a non S Cooper beat you. I've beaten quite a few of those now, they are alright until about 60 and then I just sail past :D

OK I am here to represent the female of the species.

Cab wasn't trying hard enough. I have burnt off a Saxo VTR, 106 GTI & Vectra SRI, they can all keep up with me until about 60/70 and then they're dust!

I don't drive like a granny but can still average between 50 and 60 MPG on the way back and to to work, however weekend driving is a slightly different matter.

If I have a good drive out in it' date=' and give the car a good thrashing, then 35-40 MPG is probably typical for me. Compare that the a petrol car of similar performance, and I dare say you would be looking at a fair bit less especially if you were to use the performance. My oveerall average figure according to the trip computer since I got the car over 3500 miles ago is 36.5 MPG.[/quote']

My overall MPG is 35.6 (29k miles), and I don't drive like a granny.

And its an Octy, doesn't seem to be too much of a difference between the 2 if you ask me.

:sofahide:

PS Welcome to the site Skoda Girlie

Must have been trying a bit harder last night, The Saxo VTS did try to catch up after i blew his doors off as i went past but there was no chance. The young chap did manage to catch up while we were queing at the next roundabout. All the the traffic in front went off on different roads at the roundabout which left just me the saxo and a clear road !!. He kept up well, but once we reched the 60mph mark he just faded into the distance (well chuffed) :D and judging by his dreadfull overtaking manouvres in the distance he was trying quite hard to catch up

Glad to see your injoying such a great motor. Can't say I've really had any good races in mine yet apart from my mates megane 2.0. When his had the standard 16inch wheels on and I had my tuning box they were very even. His was slightly faster. Now mine is back to standard and his now having 18's its all down to who has the better start. Which I do :D

Theres very little between a VTS and a VRS. 0-60 the VTS will definitely win, but over a 0-100 run theres virtually nothing in it, suggesting the VRS is maybe ever so slightly quicker than a VTS between 0-100. The VRS has a slightly quicker 30-70 time too, and it'll whoop it for in gear times.

I am very surprised about the VTS, sure it maybe only a 1.6 but it has 120-130bhp depending on the age of the car and weights about 950 kgs. OK it won't have the torque of the vRS but it is considerably lighter. Saying all of that though it's still a sh1treon Paxo.

And here endeth the lesson. (although I think using the term Paxo is an insult to a maker of top sage and onion stuffing).
