on my 1999 octy 1.6 petrol the tickover goes from 1000to 300 revs fluctuating then settles at around700 revs also i can feel throttle pedal move slightly as this is happening apart from this car runs well no misfire or hesitation, only happens when hot, perfect on start up from cold, any help appreciated

Sounds like your idle control valve maybe at fault?

Best thing to do is take it to a garage and get them to hook it up to diagnostics.

:iagree: The pedal movement is because of the idle speed variation, rather than the other way about.

Sorted, took air filter pipe off throttle body, sprayed carb cleaner on a rag cleaned area around butterfly now tickover is spot on
