what you think of this....?

Larger wheels will increase the look and performance of your car!

The performance increase is a result of mounting a wider, low profile tyre and a larger diameter wheel.

The tyre is wider and gives your car a wider stance.

Better lateral stability and increased steering response is achieved because the wheel is taller and the sidewalls of the tyre are shorter.

We can provide you with the correct tyre size to keep your car at the correct height, ensuring the gear ratio & speedometer reading on your car remain unchanged!

taken from a company on ebay selling wheels what you think lol

hi mate what about increased performance though? i thought bigger wheels would do this?

Depends on a lot of factors.

How much bigger the new wheels are

The size of the new tyre (profile and width)

Make of the new tyre

weight of the new alloys

Obviously if you buy a set of nasty 19" replicas fitted with LingLong tyres in a 245/60/19 tyre they arent going to improve anything at all!

gearing might actually hinder performance when fitting bigger wheels.

I've noticed nothing bad going up to 17s, but then I kept the tyre size fairly similar to how it was before.

:D

Biggest I would go is 17s personally on a small car like the Fabia.

205/40/17 or 215/40/17 tyre

i am wanting 17 rims mate only with 205 40 17 rims and currently looking at some replica wheels boo boo to keep with the standard kind of make feel i.e vw etc etc

Get some genuine ones ;)

They wont corrode/ buckle as easily.

why are they really low quality mate?

It's partly right. Most bigger wheels will be heavier than smaller wheels so you can actually hinder performance by increasing the unsprung weight. However, more rubber in contact with the road and smaller sidewalls mean that the available grip is higher (in good conditions) and the tyre will deform less under cornering so will feel sharper so you should be able to carry more speed through a corner.

Lots of info on suggested wheels and tyre sizes on here and you can calculate the rolling radius to make sure the speedo will remain accurate.

I run 205/40/17 tires on my Fabia and in my opinion i wish i'd got the 215's

The 205's just look a little stretched and dont offer any rim protection what so ever. Get 215's when you go for 17's

cheers for that mate what tyre size exactle 215 40 17? cheers bud

also mate sorrt what does this stretched mean lol

also mate sorrt what does this stretched mean lol

You got the tyre size right above. Stretched means effectively the tyre is too rounded at the top. The sidewall instead of being more vertical, is at more of an angle, and the tread appears too narrow for the wheel. An extreme version is below where literally the whole tyre is too narrow.

Yeah as above,

I'd fit

215/40/17's

Thats a personal opinion though and i'll be going for that next time i need tires :)
