140TDI Variable Service

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My Service light pops up now telling me that I am due my first service at roughly 14,500 miles - I was just wandering if this about average? My right foot isn't that heavy but I have had some fun on the back roads.

Also my local Skoda dealer (20miles away) quoted me £200-£250 for my first service  so I called our local VW dealer (2 miles away) who has just recently taken on the Skoda Service & they quoted me £168.00 - So no prizes for guessing which one I chose.

14K sounds about right, mine was at 18K but it does depend on how you drive.

£168 is about the right price, thats how much I paid at my local skoda dealer.

My first service was at 16,500 and I paid £150 ish? But mine has just started flashing it wants another service at 24,000? And I am a very steady driver so cant work it out.

Sounds like you've been put on Annual rather than Variable when they reset for service indicator.

Worth checking with the garage and which oil they put in.

I've just been quoted £200 including doing all the filters from a main dealer.

Have to say I've always had an annual service although only doing under 10K miles a year - possibly feeling that oil has a limited life. Am I being paranoid? Should I have our Octy II reprogrammed for variable service?

Mine was about 18.5k, not sure on price, its a company car.
