Centre Brake Light Replacement

Featured Replies

Half of the bulbs have gone on my centre brake light, and I've got a price for a new part but does anyone know how easy (or hard) it is to replace or shall I let the stealers make some easy money???

I've searched already for centre and 3rd brake light, but I didn't come across anything.

Cheers.

iirc you need to remove the top tailgate trim over the lamp unit to access it, you may find it has separate capless bulbs fitted , which are cheap enough to buy

Thanks for the reply Ric. Looks like I've got something to break at the weekend then.

getting the trim off without breaking the clips is a pain in the ****. just give it a good tug.

once thats off its very easy and obvious how to remove the light though.

I had a feeling that it's one of those trims pieces with fastening clips that are likely to snap.

Any idea on which bit is best to start with, the middle or the side?

Mine came off quite easily when I was fitting my brake light cover. IIRC, I pulled at the right hand side first.

Incidentally, here is a pic of the brakelight now... Great when overtaking Evertonians!

Not a good idea to tread on the brakes when overtaking :-)
