Idiot needs a guide!

Featured Replies

Right here's the deal. If you asked me to spec and build a PC I could do it with my eyes closed, but installing some simple speakers is baffling me!

Right I have purchased a new HU, a Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 and I've got the ISO adapter off a mate who had one doing nothing, that should be fairly simple as I've had the stereo out before and also the glove box.

So I though it would be a good idea to get some new speakers and after reading a mass of posts on the forum choose some Infinity 6010cs.

Now I'm lost about how I go about wiring it all up.

Firstly I've seen adapters so I don't have to play about with wires for the speakers, but what about the tweeters and more so what about all the connecting to the crossover?

Like I said I've never done anything like this before, and wiring is definatlty not my area!

The standard wires (although personally I would uprate the cable anyway) will go to the input on the crossovers,

Then, you will have the 2 outputs from the crossover, one to the tweeter and one to the woofer (I say one, but each will have two for the + and - terminals on the speakers).

Dear me, I think for all the hassle I might just install the speaker's alone without the tweeters and crossover with a speaker adapter.
