Hi all,

I found this site whilst googling the new skoda fabia sport. I'm a bit of a car nut and have owned all manner of cars (some enjoyable and some not!!). over the last 6-7yrs I have had company cars, the last 3 yrs being at the wheel of an astra sri. my company car is due for renewal in july and I have to place an order for a new vxl in march or I can choose to opt out and have an allowance instead. The thought of being tied to another vxl for 4 years fills me with dread, especially the thought of paying tax on £20k 4 year old car at the end of the term when the thing will only be worth circa £5K

:thumbdwn:

Anyway, I'm considering taking the money and getting a skoda as I've owned several in the past 20 years of driving and have fond memories of them all (even the estelle that blew itself big time and took roughly 10 gallons of water to get a girlfriend and I the 14 miles home after our first date.... Oh how we laughed on the first and last time we went out!!)

:D

So there you have it!, Hopefully I can get to know the highs and lows of modern skoda ownership and use the info from yourselves to help me to decide whether to dump the company car and whether a new skoda is for me.

It just leaves me to thank you all in advance for your help and advice that you may be able to provide for me and please accept my apologies if some of my questions seem a bit obvious at times.

Cheers all

Paul.

Hi all, well I took the plunge and bought a new Fabia 1.9tdi Sport in July and must say I'm so glad I junked the Vauxhall. I use the Fab' for work every day and it is returning circa 55-60mpg without trying, is much quicker and much more comfy than the Astra.

I bought the car from Mitchells at Cheshire Oaks as they are local to where I live and they have been brilliant throughout. I now understand the 'happy drivers' bit!!

Looks like there are quite a few owners on this site that are based around the Chester / Wirral / North Wales area too !

Glad you like it :)
