Vibra-technics softer bush released soon

Featured Replies

Just heard back from vibra technics. Looks like they should be releasing a softer bush version of their dogbone mount by the end of the week. Wonder how it'll compare to the current one.

  • 3 weeks later...

I had a chat with John at Vibra Technics yesterday and he told me that they never realised that this mount was going to be used on a DIESEL.

It was developed for racing Polos with PETROL engines.

The new softer bush is now available and he gave me a good price on changing it for me or they'll send one out if you have access to a press you can diy.

Personally cant be bothered chasing this one up with Jabba, I'm gonna get the softer bush and see what's what.

I'm glad I didn't sell mine on but those who did might be a little miffed that they were sold something not fit for purpose.

Probably just a great big misunderstanding at the end of the day??

It's fit for purpose, but just a bit OTT perhaps. :D Loving mine still, and it has settled down a little bit.

could make a really dirty joke here, but can't be bothered.....

Do you think I can get compensation for the white-finger it's given me? :D

white finger? :P

Some of you lot need to come out in the mongrel to know the true meaning of the word.

Well like I said dont really want to get into all that, mines settled down a bit after I drilled a load of holes in it but think I might have gone a little bit too far cos it feels a little too squishy now, but zero bad vibes.

Gonna get the soft one and back nearly to square one :o

It's just begging for it, isn't it ;)

Swmbo already laughing about the softer bush... keeps asking me to repeat myself

Hard/softer, you've got to vary the bush :P

too har pah, nothing but a bunch of.................;)

The dogbone mount is ace,and it works,a little vibration on tickover is a small price to pay:D

What does it actually do guys? Benefits!?

Ta! :)

The engine moves a lot at the gearbox end under shifting, which can make shifting quite awkward. This uprated engine mount keeps the bottom end of the engine rock-steady which helps with shifting under power. Also helps to eliminate wheel-hop.

Thanks Jason :)

The wheel hop thing is something I am especially keen to avoid, as it isnt great for the rest of the drive train at all if that happens :)

he forgot to mention that it is an aquired taste,a bit hardcore and not for the faint hearted, but by god does it work:thumbup:

If you only got a little vibration at idle then you're lucky thats all I can say

According to Vibra Technics even Jabba modified their mount by drilling holes in it

never fitted the one i got second hand off another forum member , then sold it to another member
