Featured Replies

Just been qouted £150 to replace front pads on my 02 octy vrs :finger: is what i said to that.

How easy is it to change the front pads and do i need any specialist equipment?

All help welcome

quite straight forward to change, the nut on the back of the caliper is quite tricky to get at.

For that price you could replace the OEM ones with Ferodo DS2500 pads on all four.

Thought I'd ask this in this thread, for the rear brakes I understand you need a piston windback tool. I have seen these on Awesome GTI but at £39.99 I was wondering if there are cheaper places to buy them. Any recommendations anyone?

Front pads are a piece off p155 to change with a normal basic toolkit (no special tools needed)

The wind back tool that Haulfrauds sell is about £20 IIRC and is more than up to the job.

pice of cake mate!!! get some ds pads and the jobs a good un !!!

I did my pads yesterday, haven't done them before, it was quite easy. Once you have your wheel off you'll need an 18mm socket and a 7mm Allen key... that's it!
