Although I have posted a few posts now I thought I would do an official Hi and introduction to myself in here as well.

I am Steve, from Fife in Scotland.

I just bought a Silver TDi vRS Hatch from Chatams in Halbeath and am really really impressed so far.

I'm no expert in these matters yet as my previous cars havn't exactly been sporty.....

So the change to a car with lowered suspension and a good amount of ooomph is quite a change!

I immedialty came from driving a Nissan Navara Aventura 4x4 as a company vehicle so a huge change in driving characteristics!!!!

I actually went to the dealer thinking I was gonna get a 2.0 Elegance or maybe an imported L&K I had seen at motorpoint. After asking for the keys for the vRS to have a wee nose, they asked if I wanted a drive. That 3rd gear sold it to me in 5 minutes.

After some investigations on WhatCar and the like I noted that most customer reviews of the Skoda's were positive (maybe 90%). Look at similar offereings from Ford (Mondeo ST155 2.2TDi) and Vauxhall (Vectra 1.9cdti Sri 150) and the reviews are mainly negative.

The Navara I was driving is a huge machine, 2.5Td, 174bhp through 6 gears but put that into a corner at the wrong speed and it was game over! It was very refined though, easy to drive, comfy and quite good off the road too. I wouldnt buy one with my own money though, too many problems I hear about on the forums. Clutches, Propshafts, 4wd switches, bearings, turbo's reporting to be weak.

Anyways, heres to a few years of "happy" motoring with the Octavia!

I do like the Race blue and the Solid Red but stand out too much. Having kids in the back most the time I dont want to attract too much unwanted attention from ***** wanting a race so Silver is ideal!!
