my dad has just taken delivery of a 55 plate beign a mk1 owner could'nt wait to take it out .Went for a drive today only to notice that the steering wheel not in the center when travelling in a straight line it looks of to the left can anyone shine some light on what it might be or if you are having this problem?

If you didn't want to try moving the steering wheel you could ask to have it done by adjusting the track rods.

I'd get the tracking/wheel alignment checked and use this to adjust the wheel.

Are you sure the car runs in a straight line 'hands off'?

Are there any tell-tale signs of uneven tyre wear?
