Drivers door Mirror

Featured Replies

Can you advise please?,

Ive got A 05' Silver Octy VRS, this weekend. caught the door mirror on garage door frame with the result the silver plastic cowl corner has broken:(.

The good news is the mirror is intact and still moves under power.

I have noticed looking at the underside of the assembly there are 2 M3 size screws going thru' the black plastic (in a upwards direction) and between them a plugged hole. Do they secure the cowl onto the lower black plastic assembly?.

1/ Is it possible to just only order a pre-coloured cowl, cost? if so what is the part number?.

2/ Any advise on installation would be much appreciated.

Peter

You can remove the black lower part and the coloured part - but you will need to remove the glass (about £40 for the glass if you break it) very carefully to get at the screws that hold the coloured part on. They come in black plastic and need to be painted. You could get a body shop to paint it or you could have a go yourself, you will need to get some primer and the Diamond silver spray from Skoda will come with a can of lacquer.

if it helps when I did mine a few months ago, glass cowl and painting not fitted came to about 150.00 + vat form the dealer
