Not a wheelbearing according to skoda main dealer

HELP!!

Im getting a strange warble / whirring noise from the O/S of my 2005 Fabia vRS. I have taken it into the main dealer under warranty and they have replaced the rear wheel bearing which has greatly reduced the noise. I have explained this to them and they took it back again for another look. The have assured me that the noise i am hearing is not the front wheel bearing as they have investigated it and there is nothing wrong with it... but i can still hear the warble / whirring noise..... any ideas.. or is it as i think, the front wheel bearing!

Take it to another dealer or garage to get a second opinion, the noise is pretty recognisable if it is the wheel bearing though IMHO

Warped or feathered tyres are often confused with wheel bearing on grounds of the noise being identical :)

If that's the case though, surely the dealer should have mentioned that? (not disagreeing with you tho ;))

not been told about tyre noise..... that could be an idea. I had new tyres put on by the dealer when i bought it, they have done about 4k now could this develope then as it didnt do it when i first got it...

i believe it could be tyre noise mate as i had this when i first bought mine

excellent, hopefully it is tyre noise, it only appears to be coming from the drivers side.... if it were tyre noise would it not come from both?

Hello.

Try swapping your wheels front to back and see if the noise moves... I did and it was the tyres. Cheers.

if you have toyo tyres, i know from experience these can be noisy

Deffo worth a little swap about :)
