Red temp light

Featured Replies

The Temp Warning light and beeper came on seconds after starting this morning i checked water fine turned it on and off a few times still the same revved her up light went off and stayed off:confused:

This sounds like the sensor in the expansion tank - it's quite a common issue. If it comes on again, try topping-up the coolant with a bit of demineralised water, so that the level is up at MAX. If you still get lights and beeps, you'll need to replace the tank as the sensor's integral, but it's only a tenner or so from the dealer + a refill of coolant.

Hope this helps!

PHEW i can calm down now:)

I have had the same problem with both my Octy and the wifes Leon over the past week or so, only seems to do it when it is really cold. the coolant level is at max in both and the coolant seems fine when I checked with a little widget I bought from Halfords. I found restarting the engine gets rid of the light and it doesn't do once the engine is warm.
