Induction route on a vRS?

Featured Replies

I got under my car last weekend and had a poke about looking for a split hose, because of a 17705 code.

Thinking i might just replace all the hoses between turbo and intake manifold.

I just wanted to clear something up with what hose is what and where they are so if someone could check this i would be very grateful.

OK, as far i could see the air route goes:

1. Air box

2. Intake hose

3. Turbo intake pipe (TIP)

4. Compressor end of Turbo

5. Steel pipe coming straight off exit of compressor housing and going across the back of the engine bay

6. Rubber hose through wing to funny squashed short metal pipe

7. Short squashed metal pipe in wing

8. rubber hose from short squashed pipe to intercooler

9. Intercooler

10. Hose from intercooler to throttle body

Is that it??

Or is there a hose from the turbo outlet to that long steel pipe?

Item 6 that i noted, seemed to be covered in oil and looked very tatty. Also had a heat shield bag over it so i couldnt see if it was split.

Is this the hose that has been revised?

Part numbers would be handy too, so i can price up changing all the intake hoses in one go, and rule them out once and for all.

I count 4 hoses........ please correct me if ive missed one out guys.

Thanks.

Blimey it's cold today! :frosty:

Yes It's been revised ;)

I fitted a new one on mine

06A133889F is the part number IIRC

Just a bit of advice, If you are replacing this pipe make sure the double lip seal is lubricated slightly so that it seals correctly into its housing.;)

Unfortunately I made this mistake and it started leaking under full boost causing 17705 symptoms!!:o

Thanks for that guys.

Don't suppose either of you can remember how much that hose was?

This is the pipe i had to replace (piccy included) the part number is S06A145790C. It cost £40.70 inc VAT from Streets Skoda, Bristol. With this I got the pipe, lip seal and a new shield. Hope that helps
