Crashing noise from rear?? - fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Lately i noticed a crashing noise when driving over bumps which sounded like the crap in my boot was bouncy up and down and was very loud. I decided to empty my boot as the noise was getting to me. The thing is it still bloody makes the noise and iv even taken the spare out to see if its that??? It really sounds like the car is going to fall apart. Iv had all the normal suspension warranty changes and the car is 06 fabia vrs.... Anyone have the same problem or could explain this is normal??? thanks for your help

hi mate i get this sometimes i was told that it is due to the harsh suspension set up on the vrs anyway if its something broken it will undoubtable get worse so wait and see cheers fella

Me too. I've been under there when fitting my RARB and inspected everything - it's all fine.

Chances are your rear beam bushes are creaking (they can make a racket). Get under there with a hosepipe and clean them out, then lube them up as best you can. This should help.

Mine bumps and bangs from the rear of the car every now and then over speedbumps, it passed the mot and nothing was highlighted during 2 services, even when I specifically asked about it... So I just turn the stereo up!

Iv tried pushing down on the suspension really hard and it dosnt nake a sound. But just took it for a spin and its still making a loud creaking and crashing noise! :thumbdwn:

Yup, same as mine. It takes a speedhump to make it do it. As above, clean and lube.

Yeah its speed humps and just general holes on the road. I will have to wait till the wknd to clean and lube it! What an awful noise though!

Yeah, it's horrible isn't it! I think it's down to the salt on the roads at the moment. After a good blast out with the Karcher mine was near silent for a while until the next time they gritted. :(

Thread resurrection.....

Will replacing the rear beam bushes solve this problem? I cannot stand the banging sound everytime I hit a pot hole or similar. I have already replaced the rear shocks and rear top mounts :wall:

Best to replace them with the Powerflex rear beam bushes (also see my post http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/194379-powerflex-rear-beam-bushes/) They will help to maintain correct wheel geometery throughout the suspension travel range!! B)

Cheers. I saw on another old thread that the powerflex rear bushes were prone to shredding and the OE ones are best?

Powerflex shredding???!!!! Never heard that one before!! Had mine on for 5yrs all ok! Would like to know more about this, where did you see this??

It was on a forum thread. I can't seem to find it again. There were pics too.
