Trouble fitting roofbox/bike racks to estate

Featured Replies

I had the dealer provide me with a set of crossbars for my vrs estate when negotiating the price.

Now that I have opened the box and found that the width of the bars is much wider than the bars I had for my Octavia I. They were simple box section bars.

I can't fit my bike rack or roof box to the new bars using my current U-clamp fittings. Does anyone know where I can get new fittings from?

Or is there a different way for attaching items to these wide bars (I see there is a rubber sealed section down the length of the bars.)?

Any advice would be great

Thanks.

Had the same problem with my hatchback. Dealer provided roofbars as the part of the deal (original Skoda ones). I've finished buying new bike rack because old one wouldn't fit, as U-clamps were narrower then the roof rack. Got myself THULE bike rack that fits perfectly.

If it's the same as the Thule ones I've got then the black rubber in the middle section pulls out and you get special fittings that slide in the end , kind of like an upside down T. I believe for my bike rack that I got Aero compatible feet together with the U shaped clips.

If you try the roofbox company they should sort you out. Used them for Superb and were able to supply new feet for my octy II
