Apologies if there is a sticky about this issue but cant find it! My 02 Octavia Elegance 110tdi has a major problem with the indicators in that they wont work! Thats not strictly true as occassinaly if I'm lucky they will last 2 or 3 blips before packing in. Whats weird is that they blink when I plip the remote locking. I've changed what I think is the fuse in the dash side but someone tells me there is a relay under the dash that might be the issue. Is this true if so where is it and is it an amateur fix or a dash out job? Any tips gladly received. Thanks Chris

Mods please feel free to move this thread as think I might now have found a solution in that some people say the hazard warning relay is the cause!

Put a new hazard warning switch in as this contains the flasher unit, they are a litle under £30 and quite easy to do.

Fordfan is right. I have same car as you and I have had to change mine.

Just use a wide blade to prize it out, so as not to mark the surround. Easy job.

Thanks! Really easy fit just used thin bladed knife to prise the surround out. Just hope this one lasts a while! Now to fix my rattling passenger door trim.

Hiya. Are you sure it's the door trim? I get an occasional creak from mine, but I'm almost certain the noise is from the lap joint on the B-post, not the door.

Ken. Thanks for the tip. No this is a definite rattle which can be partly cured by pulling the door trim towards the inside of the car. However I think the lock bar might be an issue aswell.

     My Skoda seems ot be doing the same thing. Hazzards work fine just the indicators die after 2-3 blips. Should i look at replacing the Hazzard Switch or is the first port of call in the Glove Box? if its the glove box can you let me know what im looking for?

Hazard switch is what the problem is I had the same fault on my Octy Est changed the hazard switch now it works fine.
