Wishbone brushes

Featured Replies

I've been told that my Fabia needs to have new wishbone brushes, and a new 'multi belt' whatever that is.

My question is - what's the implication of NOT doing this - its quite expensive.

Not changing the wishbone bushes will cause excessive tyre wear and eventually cause an MOT failure. Replace them with the Seat Ibiza Cupra ones as most people here have done.

Multi belt - I would think that this is the external ancilliaries drive belt - ie micro-rib belt, if you do not change this when advised to, either it could break and cause you to lose alternator + other drive (not good when you have electro-hydraulic steering system), or in exteme circumstances, if it starts splitting it could foul other engine parts and wreck them.
